The Client
A US$ 250m listed industrial Group in India. The company specializes in manufacturing and marketing of metal components for the automotive and electrical sectors.
Initial Situation
The Company is #1 in most of its markets (appliances, automotive components...) and looking to double size in 3-5 years. As key international clients are building Global Sourcing Hubs from India, the shareholders want to diversify and get competitive advantage through technology. Various options are considered, including acqusition of businesses in Europe, JVs, technical collaboration, licensing agreements etc. Finally, the shareholders decide to assess then launch a Greenfield operation in India with technology transfer from Europe.
Approach
P2P Consultants has worked with the shareholders and the Executive Team to identify various opportunities in India and in Europe, and make relevant strategic choices. P2P Consultants also worked with the Company to assess demand and the technical requirements and build a business plan. Subsequently, P2P Consultants worked with the shareholders to select the best investment decisions.
In a second stage, P2P Consultants works alongside the Company to source the required technical expertise, acquire industrial equipment, initiate relationships with global Key Accounts, build the factory in India, and launch the production.
